what we love

Tess and Andy have been preparing for the wedding for a long time before meeting with us. They came up with many awesome ideas and specific requirements; and we definitely loved it so much. Almost everything, from the furniture, decoration, food, beverage, lighting and sound, was separately ordered and delivered to the museum the day before the wedding. Both Tess and Andy love Vietnam fervently; hence we brought the local characters into every little detail of the wedding, from the music to the beverage, and cuisine. Andy even used a pho cooking pot as an ice bucket to cool up the beers, which was a fantastic idea and it perfectly added a local touch to the party concept.

The Location

Ho Chi Minh Museum
This was the first wedding in Vietnam to be held at the Ho Chi Minh Museum. Holding a wedding in a public space was a big challenge because Ho Chi Minh Museum still opened to the public and welcomed delegations on the wedding day. But from this, we have learnt many great things including how to keep the wedding private so that everybody can fully enjoy the party without the influence from the general operation of the building.

The Attire

Tess had been searching for many dressmakers in Ho Chi Minh city for her wedding dress. She finally ended up working with La MUSE - a talented and most suitable unit for her aspirations. As a fashion designer, Tess was very knowledgeable about fabrics, seams, and what she wanted for her dress. The working process with La MUSE went smoothly and harmoniously. The white hand-embroidered Phoenix double motif was a gift from La MUSE's to Tess, and it was an impressive highlight for the beauty of the mixture of Eastern and Western cultures

Tess personally designed her bridesmaids' dresses to suit each of their personalities. What could be better than wearing a beautiful dress that was made with love by the bride on her own? The bridesmaids’ shoes were also custom-made for each individual and we just couldn’t get enough of how beautiful of the friendship they had.

The Decoration

Ho Chi Minh Museum was designed in the style of Indochinese architecture with its inherent perfect beauty. Home Garden Wedding Decor and we tried to keep the decoration as simple as possible to keep the full breath of elegance and luxury as it was.
There was a bump in the road with the rental company we booked and they couldn’t deliver the goods as promised. Fortunately, we were able to find another rental company the night before the wedding and everything went just smoothly. The new chairs perfectly matched the design of the museum.
We chose the canopy and the flagpole as the background to enhance the existing charm of the museum as well as showing the couple's love of Vietnam. Besides, we used their favorite street’s names to name the guest tables, which brought excitement to their guests.

the celebration

We suggested Tess take a cyclo ride for her entrance and it turned out to be the most impressive bridal entrance. To emphasize the local spirit and uniqueness of the wedding, lion dance performance was also brought in and everyone absolutely loved it.

There were a couple of uncontrolled complications that occurred at the wedding and flight delay was one of them. Andy's family were supposed to be in HCMC the day before the wedding. However, an unexpected flight delay sadly caused the wedding to be postponed to a day later. We had to convince the vendors to push back the event date likewise and gladly, they were all happy to do it. Couldn't describe how grateful we were to have such a wonderful team.

Andy's loving mother and sister personally made the wedding cake. And it possibly was the best cake for the couple on their big day. Three different types of Vietnamese draft beer were served at the wedding to satisfy the guest and Andy’s father's preference.
