Tess & Andy’s deep affection for Vietnam became the inspiration behind the very first wedding ever held at the Museum of Ho Chi Minh City. Within its timeless walls, Vietnamese culture quietly revealed itself through every carefully considered detail, from beloved local dishes and regional craft beers to familiar melodies that drifted through the celebration. Their warmth, trust, and distinctive aesthetic transformed the wedding into more than a beautiful gathering. It became a heartfelt celebration where culture was shared with elegance, intimacy, and genuine emotion.
The Museum of Ho Chi Minh City is a historic landmark that welcomes visitors every day, preserving countless stories of the city within its walls. Hosting a wedding here for the very first time meant navigating a series of challenges with no precedent. Together with the museum management, we carefully planned every operational detail, from visitor circulation and installation schedules to protecting the integrity of this heritage building throughout the celebration.
For just one day, the museum quietly transformed from a place that preserves the city's memories into a place that witnessed the beginning of Tess & Andy’s own story. Perhaps that is what made every moment there feel even more meaningful for everyone who was present.
As a fashion designer herself, Tess worked seamlessly with La MUSE throughout the process. The hand-embroidered white phoenix motif — a special gift from La MUSE — became a striking highlight, beautifully blending the elegance of Eastern tradition with Western sophistication.
From the earliest planning conversations, Tess & Andy gave Meraki the freedom to imagine how Vietnam could be experienced through the eyes of locals. That openness allowed us to introduce ideas that felt genuinely rooted in Vietnamese culture, from the bride arriving by cyclo to a traditional lion dance opening the dinner celebration. Rather than incorporating familiar cultural symbols simply for decoration, every experience was thoughtfully chosen to help their family and friends discover the place they had chosen to celebrate their marriage.
Their wedding felt like a journey through culture, love, and the unexpected. We still remember the moment we learned that the bride's family flights had been delayed, forcing the entire wedding to move to the following day. Amid all the last minute changes, the most beautiful part was not simply that everything came together in the end. It was seeing Tess & Andy smiling as they exchanged vows, receiving their heartfelt embrace after the celebration, and feeling the trust they had placed in us throughout the journey. Looking back, that day gave Meraki more than another beautiful wedding. It gave us two lifelong friends.
