what we love
Mai and Chris got married during the storm Usagi, the biggest storm on record in 2018. Heavy rains were lashing and there was no break in the storm. However, the rain, on the other hand, made for one-of-a-kind wedding photos. And if you've ever seen wedding photos captured in the rain, then you know exactly what we're talking about.
Wedding day "disasters" may not seem funny at the moment, but one day you'll love telling your children the epic story of how you battled a big storm on your wedding day. And that’s what we hope for Mai and Chris in many years to come.
The entire planning took place online, through Skype, email & Whatsapp. We met Mai and Chris in person for the first time a week before the wedding. And the part that they completely trusted us made the whole planning process much easier.
Everybody had a great time dancing in the rain for the after-party.
The Location
Mai and Chris' wedding ceremony was held at the Ho Chi Minh Museum of Fine Arts, a special venue with the harmoniously architectural combination of Asian and European art (Art-Deco). This old-time museum, built in 1934 provides distinctive historic characters that make it a special wedding space in Saigon
Because of the rain, we had to move the reception dinner into an art exhibition hall. What could be better than enjoying a warm party in an art space filled with flower paintings?
We had to transfer everything literally from the courtyard to the exhibition hall, from decoration, rentals, catering, bar, lighting, sound, and even chairs and tables.
When the ceremony approaching, we riskily changed our plan and decided to let the ceremony happen outdoors. Frankly, this was the best decision we made when the drizzle completely stopped right before the ceremony took place.

All the lanterns were delivered from Hoi An and were given to guests as a wedding favor.
The after-party was short but full of improvisation and emotion under the rain. Everybody was up to the dance floor and swaying to their feet. We are sure this party was one of the greatest experiences that everyone would talk about in years.
