From our very first meeting, everything felt effortless, as though we had known one another long before that day. The more we listened to Trang and Dũng's story, the more we found ourselves believing in fate. Somehow, life had quietly guided two people through different paths until they met at exactly the right moment, becoming each other's greatest source of comfort, healing, and home.
Trang and Dũng would often smile and say that perhaps it was fate that led them to Meraki as well. Although our planning journey began with little time to spare, everything unfolded with surprising ease. Looking back, it never felt as though we were simply preparing a tea ceremony. It felt like caring for a love story that was always meant to find its way to this moment.
Trang once shared that what she wished for most was a ceremony where guests would feel as though they had stepped into a gentle garden. From our very first site visit, we knew the house had already given us the greatest gift. A spacious rooftop garden, surrounded by lush greenery and filled with a remarkable sense of calm, felt like a hidden sanctuary above the city.
As the morning unfolded, the garden became even more enchanting beneath soft sunlight and a delicate veil of mist. Clusters of white blossoms, blush pink flowers, lavender blooms, and fresh spring greens were arranged as though they had naturally grown among the existing foliage. A long dining table nestled beneath rows of trees, while the ceremony space bloomed with layers of seasonal flowers, creating an atmosphere that felt gentle, romantic, and full of life.
Nature, too, stayed with us until the very last moment. The fresh air of late winter kept every bloom beautifully vibrant throughout the ceremony, allowing each arrangement to blend effortlessly into the surrounding greenery, as though the garden had been quietly waiting to become part of Trang's story.
In contrast to the bride's garden, the groom's home embraced the quiet elegance of its architecture, with warm brown walls and clean, understated lines. Rather than transforming the space, we allowed its existing character to guide every design decision.
With the ceremony taking place just before Lunar New Year, we embraced the philosophy of celebrating what each season naturally offers. Snow apricot blossoms, dahlias, budding plum branches, and the most beautiful flowers of the season became the heart of the floral concept. Arranged in the spirit of Ikebana, each composition preserved the natural beauty of every stem while complementing the home's calm minimalism. Like the first gentle signs of spring, the arrangements quietly settled into every corner of the house, bringing with them the warmth and anticipation of family reunions just around the corner.
Amid the beauty of traditional rituals, Trang and Dũng found thoughtful ways to weave pieces of their own personalities into the celebration. From a custom made matcha tower prepared especially for the bride to a tiny Jellycat cat tucked among the ceremonial gifts, every detail brought smiles to the faces of their family and friends. These playful touches filled both ceremonies with laughter and warmth, allowing every moment to honour tradition while remaining unmistakably, and beautifully, their own.
