Phong & Hoàng are a thoughtful and deeply emotional couple whose love reveals itself through the simplest yet most meaningful gestures. Their elopement wedding gave us a truly unique experience, and it was also the first project where Meraki had the opportunity to collaborate with photographer Phan Tiến upon his return to Vietnam after ten years of living and working in France.
To create an intimate celebration surrounded by the beauty of Vietnam’s natural landscape, we chose the summit of Bài Thơ Mountain overlooking Ha Long Bay as the ceremony location. Here, the vastness of the sky, the endless expanse of water, and thousands of limestone islands came together in perfect harmony, creating a breathtaking and artistic backdrop for their vows.
For the ceremony arch, we used dried grasses combined with Protea flowers to express a sense of individuality and untamed beauty. Protea became the signature floral element throughout the celebration, chosen for its symbolism that closely reflected Phong & Hoàng themselves. It represents courage, resilience, transformation, and a beauty that is distinctive and unapologetically unique.
The dinner was held aboard a charming wooden boat drifting through Ha Long Bay. The most magical moments unfolded as the boat slowly passed between towering limestone formations, while scattered rays of sunlight painted the landscape with the rich colors of sunset. It was truly a day to remember
To catch the very first light of sunrise, Phong, Hoàng, and our team began the climb to the mountaintop before dawn. We will never forget the moment they exchanged their vows. It was a moment of immeasurable beauty. Alongside us, their milestone was witnessed by the gentle morning light, the majestic limestone mountains stretching across the horizon, and the soft chiming sounds of bells from fishermen’s boats drifting across the bay.
Even now, whenever we look back at these photographs, we can still hear the sweet words they shared with one another.
