PAULINE & SIPHO

From the very beginning, we could sense that Pauline and Sipho carried a natural sense of joy about them. Vibrant, playful, and full of life, they are the kind of people who bring energy into every room they walk into. It felt only natural that their wedding would reflect that same spirit.

The design began with Pauline’s vision of a celebration filled with colour, one that stepped away from tradition in both subtle and unexpected ways. Her pink wedding dress became the starting point for a visual language built around bold hues, layered tones, and playful contrasts. Rather than relying on a single colour palette, the design embraced a spectrum of vibrant shades that felt expressive, contemporary, and unapologetically fun.

A sky-blue aisle cut through the garden, leading guests toward a sculptural backdrop inspired by patterns and motifs drawn from Sipho’s cultural heritage. Above, hundreds of cascading ribbons in shades of coral, pink, peach, and orange transformed the canopy into a floating installation.

Rather than making a perfectly composed entrance, Pauline arrived with a playful expression, even sticking out her tongue at one point, instantly filling the room with laughter and setting the tone for the celebration ahead.

One of the most meaningful aspects of Pauline and Sipho’s wedding was the way both cultures came together naturally throughout the celebration.

During the ceremony, a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony was thoughtfully incorporated into the vows, creating a meaningful opportunity for both families to share in the couple’s commitment. In Vietnamese culture, the act of serving tea is a gesture of gratitude, respect, and the beginning of a new chapter between generations.

As the ceremony came to a close, Sipho’s family introduced a tradition from their Zimbabwean heritage. While family members sang a traditional song, woven mats were carefully laid along the aisle for Pauline and Sipho to walk across together. Accompanied by the voices of their loved ones, the walk felt like a symbolic passage into married life, carrying blessings from family and honoring the generations who came before them.

Thoughtful details continued throughout the day, from the cheerful Vietnamese “Dzô” that echoed across the celebration to wedding favors supporting a social initiative close to Pauline’s heart. Together, these touches created a celebration that felt deeply personal, bringing cultures, families, and values together with warmth and intention.

That same energy carried throughout the evening. Conversations flowed effortlessly, guests embraced every moment wholeheartedly, and the dance floor quickly came to life.

With music playing and loved ones gathered around them, the celebration felt less like a formal wedding and more like a reflection of Pauline and Sipho themselves: warm, vibrant, and full of joy.
