Bamboo became the defining material throughout both the Tea Ceremony and the wedding ceremony. In many Asian cultures, bamboo symbolizes resilience, prosperity, and enduring happiness, carrying with it hopes for a future filled with joy and good fortune.
The ceremony arch was crafted from layers of curved bamboo strips woven together to resemble two bird nests leaning gently toward one another, a poetic reflection of Daphne & Patrick’s love story. Along the aisle, clusters of bamboo guided the way as Daphne walked beside her parents toward the ceremony space, creating an atmosphere that felt both serene and deeply emotional.
Nearly every corner of the celebration carried subtle references to Asian culture, a heartfelt tribute to the couple’s roots and heritage. The evening reception, however, embraced a different perspective. Inspired by Western aesthetics, it became a thoughtful gesture of appreciation toward the many friends who had traveled from afar to celebrate with them.
Curved dining tables softened the space, while delicate floral-shaped pendant lights shimmered overhead. Together with carefully chosen details, they created an atmosphere that felt intimate, elegant, and quietly romantic.
Most guests attending the wedding were close family members and lifelong friends. They arrived not as formal attendees, but as people who had long shared laughter, milestones, and everyday moments with the couple. Although the weather leading up to the wedding was uncertain, everyone arrived with joyful hearts. Warm embraces were exchanged, encouraging words shared, and the celebration unfolded with an ease that felt entirely natural.
Short speeches from both families filled the day with affection, weaving together laughter and a few tears along the way. The atmosphere remained wonderfully intimate throughout, simple, heartfelt, and joyful, exactly as Daphne & Patrick had envisioned. For the welcome celebration, guests received handcrafted keychains created by a charitable organization supporting children in the United Kingdom, a cause close to Daphne’s heart. Patrick, in turn, surprised everyone by making a contribution in both of their names to AI YOU FOUNDATION, an organization dedicated to improving children's healthcare in China.
On their wedding day, they continued that shared journey of giving by inviting loved ones to support VIETHOPE, an organization devoted to nurturing educational opportunities and dreams for children across Vietnam.
In a celebration centered around love, Daphne & Patrick chose not only to share their happiness with family and friends, but also to extend it to communities beyond the wedding itself.
