What we loved

Returning to Huế for Claire & Luis’ wedding felt a little like stepping into a dream. Between the gentle rain, quiet gardens, and the unhurried rhythm of the city, everything seemed to unfold exactly as it was meant to.

Perhaps that was also how it felt working alongside Claire & Luis. Their warmth made the entire journey feel deeply familiar, as though we were helping someone in the family prepare for an important day. What we cherish most is the trust they gave us to push the creative boundaries, weaving the cultural textures of Huế throughout the celebration in a way that felt refined, contemporary, and unmistakably their own.

Venue

Claire & Luis came to us with a clear vision from the beginning: to find a space that felt warm, intimate, and deeply rooted in cultural character. That vision naturally led us to Lan Viên Cổ Tích, a quiet garden house in the heart of Huế where antique ceramics, weathered wooden structures, and carefully preserved details carried the beauty of a home shaped gently across generations.

Because the venue was first and foremost a family home and cultural space, hosting a private wedding there came with its own challenges. Together with the venue team, we carefully shaped the celebration in a way that felt both intimate and respectful to the spirit of the house itself. Rather than transforming the space completely, we chose to let its existing soul lead the story, gently weaving contemporary details into the old charm of Huế throughout the celebration.

Decoration

Claire’s artistic eye and love for vintage objects quietly shaped the visual direction of the wedding from the very beginning. Together with Luis, they were drawn to spaces that felt collected rather than overly polished, places layered with history, texture, and a quiet sense of soul. That sensibility became the foundation for everything we created throughout the wedding.

Rather than transforming the venue into something entirely new, we chose to preserve the quiet beauty already living within the garden house itself. A palette of dusty plum, muted reds, moss green, aged wood, and soft amber lighting allowed the space to feel cinematic yet intimate, inspired by the nostalgic visual worlds of Wong Kar-wai and David Lynch while remaining deeply rooted in Huế’s cultural spirit.

For the dinner setting, the visual direction shifted into a richer and more cinematic palette inspired by old imperial Huế through a contemporary lens. Velvet table linens, emerald green lamps, crimson drapery, bead curtains, pháp lam-inspired details, and concentrated warm lighting layered the space with texture and depth, creating an atmosphere that felt nostalgic, intimate, and quietly theatrical.
