Deciding on a destination wedding in the misty mountains of Sapa meant that choosing the right wedding planner was essential. We needed someone who could bring our vision to life with care, sensitivity and deep creative insight. The moment we met the incredible team at Meraki Wedding Planners, we knew we were in the right hands. They truly are some of the most extraordinary group of leading women, who helped us with absolutely everything you could possibly imagine. They did not miss a beat! The entire Meraki...
The most magical part of this wedding, for us, was witnessing Cindy & Josh’s trust in Meraki to help turn their journey into a memory to cherish. Vietnamese culture was delicately woven into a cinematic space inspired by their shared love for In the Mood for Love Movie. It was more than a celebration! It became a story filled with pride and meaning, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present. Beyond a unique wedding we gained a sister who listens, understands, and quietly walks alongside them through it all.
Before the wedding day, Cindy and Josh welcomed guests with warmth and sincerity by sharing the beauty of a different Sapa: the sweeping mountain vistas, the melodic flutes and gongs, the lively rhythm of traditional bamboo dances, the vivid patterns of ethnic communities, and the earthy flavors of local cuisine.
As a designer, Cindy knew exactly how to bring her vision to life. Every outfit for family and friends was designed by her and tailored by Silk Road Tailors in Hoi An. Of course, her own gowns were unforgettable. Drawing inspiration from traditional materials and her parents’ wedding album, Cindy created looks that felt both elegant and powerful. They were a reflection of what she believed in most: modern femininity rooted in culture and memory. A softness with strength. Glamour grounded in love and legacy.
Cindy & Josh chose Hôtel De La Coupole not just for its grandeur, but also for its design story, inspired by traditional fabrics of northern Vietnamese ethnic communities - a subtle nod to Cindy’s work as a fashion designer.
Red and black became even more striking beneath the soft mist that covers Sapa. The fog felt like a natural curtain, turning the entire space into something poetic and romantic. There was only one flower on the stage, a single large velvet bloom that stood for love, for family, and for everything that had brought Cindy and Josh here. Every bouquet and boutonniere was handcrafted from fabric or paper by the Home Garden team, carefully stitched to create whimsical, thoughtful accents.
The ceremony itself was filled with moments that touched the heart. One of the most emotional moments came as Cindy walked down the aisle with her father to the haunting strains of Yumeji’s Theme. Every eye turned misty. On stage, hand in hand, Cindy and Josh looked out at the rows of faces that had shaped their lives. Every glance, every smile, every tear of joy was silently acknowledged and cherished.
For Cindy & Josh, family is both a foundation and a source of creative inspiration, including loved ones near and far, especially a brother present in Cindy’s heart from afar. Every guest there played an essential part in shaping who they are today. Everyone was present, cheering, sharing heartfelt words. Every sincere emotion was etched into the hearts of all, making the evening warm, complete, and unforgettable.
