I cannot recommend Meraki Wedding Planner highly enough - they are, without a doubt, the most incredible team you could ever dream of having by your side for your wedding. From start to finish, they went above and beyond in every possible way. Planning a wedding in Vietnam while living overseas could have been overwhelming, but the Meraki team took care of everything with flawless precision and warmth. They liaised seamlessly with all of our vendors on the ground, strategically gathered and organized every piece...
There was something we deeply admired about Anneliese and Vince throughout the planning journey: the genuine affection they held for Vietnam. Despite having travelled across more than eighty countries together, they kept finding their way back to Sapa, drawn to its mountains, culture, people, and sense of adventure.
It became clear that they wanted to share that love with everyone who had travelled so far to celebrate with them. More than a destination wedding, the weekend became an invitation for family and friends to experience a place that had long held a special place in their hearts.
Their wedding unfolded during the final days of harvest season, overlooking golden rice terraces stretching across the mountainside. It is rare to arrive at precisely the moment when the fields are still glowing with the last colours of the season, and somehow, their celebration captured that fleeting window. Looking back, it almost felt as though nature had quietly saved one final harvest just for them.
As the ceremony began, Anneliese slowly made her way down through the rice terraces towards Vince, framed by golden fields and distant mountains. Walking through the landscape they had fallen in love with time and time again, it felt as though Sapa itself had quietly become part of the moment, standing witness to the beginning of their next chapter.
Before dinner began, guests were invited to take part in one of the couple's favourite pastimes. As longtime tattoo enthusiasts, Anneliese and Vince prepared a collection of custom temporary tattoos inspired by their personalities and shared adventures, allowing guests to leave with a small memory of the celebration quite literally worn on their skin.
As evening settled over Topas Ecolodge, everyone gathered around long dining tables overlooking the mountains. Wrapped in drifting clouds and layers of mist rolling across the hillsides, the landscape seemed to change by the minute. Against this backdrop, guests shared stories, laughter, and heartfelt toasts while enjoying the cool highland air.
Music became the heartbeat of the evening. From the gentle melodies of a traditional Hmong flute echoing through the valley to contemporary beats that kept the dance floor alive late into the night, each chapter of the celebration brought guests a little closer together. What began as an intimate dinner slowly unfolded into a joyful party filled with laughter, dancing, and shared memories.
