Unique wedding venues in HO CHI MINH CITY

Choosing venues will largely define the success of a wedding. It shows the couple’s interest and determines the decoration style, wedding program, bringing an unforgettable impression to the guests. We’ve spent a lot of time searching for unique wedding venues all over Vietnam so let’s take a look at these amazing wedding locations in Ho Chi Minh City. Many of them are so obvious that you might have never thought of.

Ho Chi Minh City Museum

This nostalgic venue is where Meraki’s brand took off. Built in 1885 by French architect Alfred Foulhoux, the building witnessed many changes in the history of Ho Chi Minh City. It has different names but is widely known as Gia Long Palace in the 1950s and is now officially named the Ho Chi Minh City Museum. Our first wedding here is for Tess and Andy, who passionately persuaded perfectionism. Their wedding was the first private event ever held inside this historical site. It is beautiful because the museum’s design blends the Occidental style with Oriental style in hundreds of ornament & sculptures. The main foyer features a grand staircase and seven large windows that create an amazing space for weddings.

The museum can host up to 80 people, it is suitable for small indoor weddings. There are 02 floors that can be rented for various functions, from welcoming guests, holding vow ceremonies to dining & dancing. Wedding decoration is a good challenge. While embracing the inherent beauty of the building, our team have to brighten the spaces to make it more lively and refreshing, without touching the walls or ceilings. Venue rental is a barrier as it is relatively high, and the museum is still open for public visits (even on your wedding day). Hence, if you decide to organize your big day here, take the time to work closely with the management team to navigate the visitors properly.

Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts

It’s funny because we commute through this building every day and has never thought about it as a wedding venue. Not until we met Mai & Chris, a couple who live halfway around the world, in the Chicago, asked us to do so. Compare to other museums, Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts is entirely different in style and design. Built in 1929 as a private property, the house harmoniously combines French architectural style with the Eastern style in exterior decoration. Yellow paint, roof tiles, ceramic columns and ornaments makes it a different and unique wedding space in Saigon.

It is suitable for small outdoor weddings that are less than 80 people. The courtyard behind the museum can be designed to organize a vow ceremony and a reception dinner, especially with the Western-style serving. At the wedding of Mai and Chris, we even danced in the rain here. The main foyer is ideal for welcoming as paintings and sculptures are displayed around the place. However, the biggest drawback is probably the renting cost, which is around 2.500USD for one day event. In addition, the management is meticulous in logistics and curfew, so make sure you talk to them before all.

Mekong cruise on Saigon River

Would you like a wedding surrounded by trees and a river? We has organized so many weddings along Saigon River, ranging from Thao Dien to Thanh Da and all the way to Binh Duong. They are all to appreciate the pleasure that the nature offers. In 2018, we went a bit further than that when planning for a wedding on a river cruise, which turned out an exceptional, cozy, intimate and emotional wedding. That is the wedding celebration of Lele & Thomas..

Having a wedding ceremony on a cruise ship is striking yet a brilliant idea. On one hand, it provides freshness to escape the heat of the city. On the other hand, you can take advantage of the deck to welcome guests, hold a vow ceremony then host a relaxing sunset cocktail right in the heart of the city.

As the cruise goes along Saigon River, guests can enjoy the city view while having dinner and chatting with friends. That is an unforgettable experience for those who are tired of hotel banquets. Unfortunately, there are not many cruise ships in Saigon and only a few suits for weddings. Limited capacity is also a constraint if you have many friends to invite. And finally, there are some limitations in running the wedding program plus the trip is relatively short (2.5 hours in total).
